It may be hard to believe, but at the beginning, Thomas Dutronc's vocation was not self-evident. It was by a roundabout route that the son of Jacques Dutronc and Françoise Hardy came to music: he discovered the guitar thanks to a friend, and became interested in rock and jazz before discovering the music of Django Reinhardt. It was a revelation. He began to follow in the footsteps of his idol, researching his records and rehearsing his solos, scouring clubs and festivals, in particular the Choppe des Puces de Saint-Ouen, the Mecca of gypsy music, which became like his second home, and gradually built his own universe. After five albums, Thomas Dutronc has undoubtedly made a (pre)name for himself, continuing to cross his multiple influences in song, without ever losing the humour and good humour without which he cannot imagine making music. His last album Frenchy saw him revisit the great classics of French chanson in the company of prestigious guests, from Iggy Pop to Diana Krall, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and even the actor Jeff Goldblum, a pianist in his spare time. There is no doubt that the guitarist and singer will put all his experience, his mischief and above all his passion at the service of this timelessly charming repertoire.
